make the world safe for democracy - in song

Of course I'm struggling to write anything remotely coherent on the Miracle of Democracy amid the world-wide euphoria of that wildly unpredictable psychopath being evicted from the Oval Office, largely because it's still a day-to-day proposition, as no one has any idea - not a clue - what the Orange Man from Twitter might get up to in his last 72 days in the White House.

The votes are still being counted despite an order from the Fucktard-in-Chief to Stop the Count! The Electoral College map is still being determined to see who rigged the gerrymander the best. The bitter recriminations on both sides (because Trump lost and Biden didn't win in a landslide) have barely begun. The US judiciary (and the rest of the world) laughs in the face of the bogus Trumpotus after the most scrutinised, peaceful, above-board and all done-by-the-book election this century. But anyway you look at it, the dude is screwed. Never mind that the Regular Guy from Delaware is about five million votes in front in the popular vote.

I'm sick of the avalanche of not-so-hilarious meme's poking fun at The Donald's gross physical appearance and the lame speculation as to what on earth might be going on with those tiny cogs spinning around furiously inside that  weird batshit pinhead of his. How could you ever know?

So why not celebrate the return of a lightly-shaded Pinko to the White House in song? Back in '66, Norma Tanega nicely summed up the predicament that Donald J. Trump now finds himself in:

and while the lines... to stop war and atrocity/and make the world safe for democracy/the greatest event of the century/in the interest of suffering humanity...might be going a bit too far, it's always good to get some Calypso on the turntable in times of crisis, with a song written by Fritz McLean back in 1936, popularized at the time by the great Attila the Hun, and covered here by Ry Cooder:

and to finish off, let's stay with Mr Cooder and a right rollicking number from his screamer of a record, Election Special, penned while Obama was campaigning for a second term...but it might as well have been written about DJ Trump's tiny little hands:

Hold onto yr hats as we wait for "safe harbour day" on December 8.
