There's been about 520 known atmospheric nuclear tests worldwide, with the USA letting off 200+ of the bungers.
Ten thousand reels of old high-speed film stock at 1500 fps [if they can find it all] to digitise to within a micro-millimetre of its life.

Imagine the enormous cost involved in this exercise in saving "lost film", just to get around the Comprehensive Nuclear Test Ban Treaty.


PS. Speaking of lost fillum...only the other day did I find out that the entire output of the very vibrant Indonesian film industry pre-1945 has been lost.
